Neurofeedback Therapy:

Neurofeedback, also referred to as EEG biofeedback or neurotherapy, is a therapeutic method that involves monitoring brainwave activity in real-time. By training individuals to regulate their brain function, this technique aims to improve overall well-being. Using electroencephalography (EEG) sensors placed on the scalp, the brain’s electrical activity is measured. This data is then used to provide immediate feedback to the individual on their brainwave patterns. During the session, sensors are attached to the scalp to detect brainwave activity, and this information is relayed to the individual through visual or auditory cues. With this feedback, individuals are encouraged to consciously alter their brainwave patterns. Through consistent practice, this process can lead to positive changes in brain function. Our Hospital is the only in Bangalore to run advanced neurofeedback therapies. Our expert team is also working with some industry stalwarts to create some best interventions

Biofeedback Therapy :

At Mind and Brain Hospital, we utilize the innovative approach of biofeedback as a core therapeutic technique, fostering a profound connection between mind and body. Through real-time monitoring of a patient’s physiological parameters, ranging from heart rate variability and muscle tension to skin conductance, our expert clinicians empower individuals to harness a newfound awareness and mastery over their bodily responses. This process not only cultivates a deeper understanding of the intricate interplay between psychological states and physiological functions but also equips patients with the tools to actively regulate these processes. By offering immediate feedback during biofeedback sessions, we guide patients towards achieving a state of profound relaxation and adept symptom management. At the confluence of cutting-edge technology and compassionate care, our biofeedback program stands as a beacon of holistic well-being, illuminating a path toward enhanced self-regulation and improved mental health.

Brain Stimulation Therapies :

Brain stimulation therapies involve activating or touching the brain directly with electricity, magnets or implants to treat depression and other disorders. Electroconvulsive therapy and has the longest history of use. Other stimulation therapies discussed here- vagus nerve stimulation; repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, magnetic seizure therapy, and deep brain stimulation- are newer, more experimental methods.

It includes following :
ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy)

ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy)

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)improved significantly since its initial use and is safe and effective. People who undergo ECT do not feel any pain or discomfort during the procedure. ECT is usually considered only after a patients illness has not improved after other treatment options, such as antidepressant medication or psychotherapy, are tried.

It is most often used to treat severe, treatment-resistant depression, but occasionally it is used to treat other mental disorders, such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. It also may be used in life threatening circumstances, such as when a patient is unable to move or respond to the outside world (e.g., catatonia), is suicidal or is malnourished as a result of severe depression.

RTMS THERAPY (Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation )

A typical RTMS session lasts 30 to 60 minutes and does not require anesthesia. An electromagnetic coil is held against the forehead near an area of the brain that is thought to be involved in mood regulation. Then, short electromagnetic pulses are administered through the coil.

The magnetic pulse easily passes through the skull, and causes small electric currents that stimulate nerve cells in the targeted brain region. And because this type of pulse generally does not reach further than two inches into the brain, scientists can select which parts of the brain will be affected and which will not be. The magnetic field is about the same strength as that of a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan. Generally, the person will feel a slight knocking or tapping on the head as the pulses are administered.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (Rtms) uses a magnet instead of an electrical current to activate the brain. Studies have found that RTMS is more effective in treating patients with major depression.

RTMS THERAPY (Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation )

Multi Behaviour Therapy (MBT)

Multi Behaviour Therapy (MBT) is a combination of different therapies that are used to treat a wide range of psychological and behavioral disorders.

At Mind and Brain Hospital, we offer various MBT treatments, including:

Aversion Therapy :

Our Aversion Therapy is designed to help patients overcome addiction by making them psychologically averse to harmful substances like alcohol and drugs. This technique employs punishment to eliminate maladaptive responses and has been used successfully to treat various addictive behaviours. Our Aversion Therapy Instrument produces adjustable, safe, and painful stimuli that create an aversive response when repeatedly paired with the addictive substance’s smell, taste, or sight. Additional adaptive measures, counselling, and family support are also essential for success.

Aversion Therapy
Electro Sleep

Electro Sleep :

Electro Sleep is a non-invasive therapy that involves the placement of electrodes on the patient’s forehead and rear central position to treat conditions such as hyper-tension, migraine, hysteria, insomnia, and obsessional neurosis. The session duration is between 40 to 60 minutes and usually requires 10 to 15 sessions to complete the treatment. Electro Sleep has proven to be effective in treating sleep disorders and other related conditions.

Brain Polariser :

Our Brain Polariser instrument is used to treat highly depressed cases, even where ECT and drugs have failed. This non-convulsive therapy is a suitable alternative for general practitioners or those who avoid ECT. Two electrodes are fixed at frontoparietal positions, just above the eyebrows, and a single electrode is fixed on the right sole of the foot, with jelly used for better contacts.

Brain Polariser
Sex Therapy

Sex Therapy :

Sex Therapy is provided to treat cases of erectile failure caused by psychosomatic factors. The placement of electrodes on the genitals is used to improve sexual function. Therapy typically involves 10 to 15 sessions lasting between 40 to 60 minutes each.
